Dr. Pang

Born in San Francisco, California, Dorothy grew up in a Cantonese-speaking household, watching kung fu movies. Inspired by the SiFu, she has a number of skills at her disposal ranging from martial arts to meditation. Dorothy has made it her lifelong goal to pursue the ‘master’ level of achievement in all that she pursues.


With meditation as one of her pastimes for decades, Dorothy believes that internal peace is the root of true strength and understanding. She holds a purple belt in Shito-Ryu style karate, which taught her that kata and sparring are dynamic applications of the body, and its Qi, in action. Dorothy has also been a certified instructor of qigong (chi kung), Jie Si-Tu’s Fundamental 8 Minute drill, for many years. She continues her training with tutorage in the advanced levels of this school. More information about Wei Tuo Qi Gong is available at The Wei Tuo Foundation. Additionally, Dorothy is certified in Oneness Reiki to aid in client diagnosis.


Acupuncture became a natural extension of her overall stream of learning. Manipulating the Qi to move a person towards health is a safe, natural form of healthcare. Dorothy prioritizes comfort in healing techniques, and therefore has developed a method of acupuncture that is virtually pain-free.  She has pursued this line of study in Shanghai, Germany, San Diego, and San Francisco. Having such a varied background has enabled her to create her own understanding of acupuncture’s healing ability and develop a gentle treatment with tremendous results.  She is also Vice President of Education of Peninsula Toastmasters, a group dedicated to personal growth and leadership skills.


Dorothy Pang has received specialized training in many different aspects of  healthcare, including:


  • Licensed by the State of California to practice acupuncture and prescribe Chinese Herbal Medicine
  • Specialized study in treatment of female and male fertility with Acupuncture &Chinese herbal medicine
  • Japanese style acupuncture (very gentle acupuncture style)
  • Training in treating Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) aka Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
  • Familiarity with Personal Injury and Worker’s Compensation cases
